Hi … my name is Rollo and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

Rollo is just the cutest fella, and when he isn’t busy exploring, he is quite loveable. We are not sure of the breed mix … could be lab, lemon beagle, could even be some spaniel in the mix … who knows??  What we do know is that Rollo is young and happy and curious, and he has no awareness that his nose can lead him places that he shouldn’t go.  He was found wandering on a very busy road, weaving in and out of traffic with complete abandon and no road sense whatsoever … so keeping him contained in a safe area must be a priority!  Apparently he has never been hurt, so he has no fear!

Rollo is the perfect size … small enough to be a great snuggle buddy (he is super huggable) and big enough not to get underfoot! This boy is not only adorable, but he is sweet and smart … and he just seems to need a family that will love him and teach him all the things that he probably should know already!  Having someone who will take time with him and train him will make a huge difference in Rollo’s world.  And some lucky family will have a great new addition!

Weight/size:  ~30 lbs

Housebroken:  YES as long as you do your part and take him out often

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  happy, curious, busy

Energy level:  medium with bursts of high

Fenced yard required?:   YES - a physical fence, not underground … he has a history of roaming and he has no street sense

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  He still needs more practice to eliminate the pulling but he is getting better

Obedience training:  No but we think he could be the star of an obedience class.  He is a smart guy.

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES … his social skills need some polishing … he is still ‘puppy rough’ and may be a bit much for older, more settled dogs.  He is, however, friendly with other dogs and just needs to learn some boundaries!

Social with cats:  Would be very happy to chase cats.  We are not sure if he would harm them on purpose.

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  He can get rowdy and might overwhelm younger, smaller children.

Adoption donation:   $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Rollo picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
