About Spud

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White with Brown or Chocolate

Hi … my name is Spud and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

Do you love Chihuahuas?  Well, Spud might not be the boy for you.  We don’t think he knows he’s a Chihuahua.  He’s not yappy or snappy and so far he never seems to meet a stranger.  He’s sweet and happy and playful and he’s a really good snuggler!  We’re not sure how he would be around children because his foster home doesn’t have any, but we think if there are older kids who are kind, he would be tolerant.  (We do know he has been mistreated by children and adults previously.) He just wants to be loved.

Approximate age/birthdate:  born ~2014

Weight/size:  9 lbs

Housebroken:  YES (he is newly neutered so he will still try to ‘mark’ things if he gets excited)

Crate trained:  YES – he does great sleeping quietly all night with no accidents in his crate

Personality:  happy, loving, playful, snuggly

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:   Always preferred.  Spud should always be on-leash when not inside a fenced yard

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  YES

Obedience training: No, but he does listen pretty well and will come when called

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  YES

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.

Adoption donation:  $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Spud picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
