Buddy is celebrating 2020 because he has a new Mom and Dad who are so excited to get to know him and love him forever!

Hi … my name is Buddy and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online. (If your application is approved, a volunteer will bring me to your house for a meet-and-greet.)

What a fun guy Buddy is!  He was found wandering in a busy traffic area and rescued by a Good Samaritan.  She loved him, but it wasn’t the right time for her to add a new family member, so Buddy came to AAMR. In September 2019 he tested positive for canine ehrlichiosis (a tick-borne disease) and he was treated.  (For more information on ehrlichiosis see https://www.petmd.com/dog/parasites/signs-and-symptoms-ehrlichiosis-dogs) This is a disease that can be avoided by using a good flea/tick preventative year-round.

When Buddy first came to AAMR, his rear legs were very shaky.  He doesn’t seems to have structural issues, so it may have been a result of too much crate time/not enough exercise when he was younger.  As he gets more free time running inside the fenced yard, his legs seem to be getting stronger. It will be something to watch as he continues to grow.

Approximate age/birthdate:  born ~ April 2019

Weight/size: ~35 pounds (probably 45 lbs or less when full grown)

Housebroken:  YES (as long as you do your part and take him out often)

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  sweet, a little shy, happy, playful, not needy

Energy level:  medium (actually pretty chill for a puppy)

Fenced yard required?:   YES – definitely preferred.  He has a past history of being a ‘wanderer.’  He should never be outside a fenced area off-leash.  He does not yet always come when called.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO (but he probably could if he wanted to)

Leash walk with manners:  Getting there … the more practice he gets, the better he will be

Obedience training:  Is starting to learn basic commands like ‘sit,’ ‘come,’ and ‘crate’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Curious about cats … will chase them if they run

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.

Adoption donation: $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Buddy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
