Sweet, sweet Dallas! This little girl is such a love bug and she just wants a family to love her and take care of her.  We don’t know a lot about her background but ‘heard’ that she lived outside a lot and that she was not housebroken.  We do know she prefers being inside and we do know if you take her out regularly, she will go potty outside … but if you wait too long, there will be accidents.  With consistency, we are sure she will get it!

She is just the cutest nugget with her distinctive blue merle color, and despite some health concerns (which are easily treated with daily medications), she has been a little ray of sunshine in foster care.  At her vet checkup, it was discovered that she has a heart murmur.  She shows no outward signs of being ‘sick’ and she is now on 2 medications each day with a cost of approximately $50/month.  We are looking for a great family that will make sure she gets the medications she needs for the rest of her life. 

Approximate age/birthdate:  ~2014

Weight/size:  12 lbs (and she needs to not gain extra weight!)

Housebroken:  a work in progress … she does well if her people take her out often

Crate trained:  YES although she really prefers a snuggly, cushy puppy bed

Personality: happy, loving, sweet

Energy level: medium 

Fenced yard required?:  Definitely preferred so Dallas has a safe place to play and explore

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  YES

Obedience training:  NO but she’s so cute and sweet and she listens well

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Has not been cat tested but she is so gentle, we think she would be fine.

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. She is not a fan of rough play.

Adoption donation: $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Dallas picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
