About Billy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White with Red, Golden, Orange or Chestnut
  • Location: All-American Mutt Rescue

Billy is a wonderful little lab/terrier mix boy born in late August, 2009.  He is just too cute … but he can’t seem to get his ears pointed in the same direction.  He is such a snuggly, cuddly guy.  Even as he is hitting adolescence, he still loves to be the center of attention.  He will snag your heart in a minute.

Billy would love to get a new forever family with a fenced yard where he could play safely off-leash.  He also needs a family who will love him, spend time training him and include him in family activities.  He really loves to stay close to his people and get some quality snuggle time!  He is now up to around 50 pounds and that seems to be a good weight for him.

Billy is a real people pup.  He plays well with most of his foster siblings although he's a little rough (and a bit puppy clumsy) for some of the smaller dogs.  He's still trying to figure out if he can be the boss ... and the answer should be "NO."  Once he understands that he can't be the alpha, he's fine with it ... but like any teen, he has to push his luck sometimes.  Billy will bark at the cats when they are on opposite sides of the fence and he will chase ANYTHING (including bumblebees, butterflies, other dogs and cats) that will run from him.  He hasn't shown aggression, but he would be able to hurt a cat if he could catch it just by his size and energy.  When his foster mom holds the cat in her lap, Billy will try to lick the cat's face and clean its ears.  He would definitely need to be monitored around cats until all the rules, boundaries and limitations were firmly established.

Billy is neutered, up-to-date on all routine vaccinations, and is microchipped.

If you think Billy might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.

It takes an average of 7 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Billy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
