Weight/size: 7 lbs         

Housebroken:  YES – will not bark to go out – need to watch and learn her body language

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  very shy and reserved when meeting someone new, a little more shy of men than women, sweet, loving, very quiet – hardly ever barks, a very gentle, low-key spirit, would not thrive in a very active household

Energy level:  low – her activities of preference are sunbathing on the porch or sitting in someone’s lap

Fenced yard required?:   NO

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES but isn’t thrilled with a leash

Obedience training:  NO

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK      

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  YES

Good with children:  OK with older, respectful, gentle children.  Would not tolerate ear pulling or tail pulling or being dressed up like a doll baby.

Adoption fee:  $150

Pixie would be the perfect companion for someone with lots of time to just allow her to sit on their lap!  At only 5 years old, she still has many years of love to give!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Pixie picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
