Fenced yard required?:   YES – she loves to be outside to play and sunbathe but she needs to be kept in a safe area

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ – she’s very smart and eager to please so should be easy to train

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK – a little anxious     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  will bark at them and chase them

Good with children:  has not been around children while in rescue but her temperament is very gentle and loving

Amy came to us from a high-kill shelter where she and her 3 puppies had been surrendered by an owner who had far too many animals to care for properly.  She was extremely thin and a bit ‘nicked up’ – probably struggling with others for food – but she is looking better every day. 

Amy gets along well with all her foster siblings but she really loves people.  She would be so happy to have a family of her very own who would love her and include her in all the family activities.  She just wants to be as close to you as possible.  She is happy to be safe and loved and she is really ready to have a family of her very own.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Amy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
