Here are some very important things you need to know about Blix

Approximate age/birthdate:  DOB 10-11-2011

Weight/size: 65 lbs (will probably top out 80+)

Housebroken: YES unless left for an unreasonable amount of time

Crate trained:  Does not like to be confined in small spaces.  He does OK outside in a large kennel or run

Personality:  very much a companion, family-oriented dog rather than a high-prey working dog

Energy level: medium

Fenced yard required?:   YES

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ and ‘down’ – very, very intelligent and will do well with training

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES WELL 

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: was raised around cats and has ignored the cats in foster home

Good with children: raised with two very young children

Adoption donation: $175

Blix and his brother, Foxon, are purebred black German Shepherd Dogs.  Littermates, Blix is short-haired and Foxon is long-haired. Blix is a little reserved when going into new situations but he seems to adjust relatively quickly. Foxon is a little more reserved and it takes him a little longer to get comfortable in new situations. They came to us because their family’s situation changed and their owner felt it was in their best interest to be rehomed.  These boys have been loved and cared for and are ready to find wonderful families of their own.  They will be fine separated or together.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Blix picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, we can finalize the adoption with the signed contract.
