Social with other dogs:  She is very submissive & just avoids other animals

Social with cats:  She tries to ignore the cats.

Good with children: Extremely shy and a lot of activity and loud noises would be intimidating for her.  She will be best in a calm, settled home with no children.

Candy is sort of a ‘special needs’ girl.  She has had a very rough life (she is a puppy mill rescue) and is extremely timid.  She is very sweet and once she trusts that you are not going to hurt her, she isn't as fearful, but she is still timid.  She needs a family that is calm and has time to spend with her. She needs lots of positive interaction with people who love her and she will return that love.  Do you have room in your heart for Candy?

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your reference checks are completed and your application is tentatively approved, we will schedule a home visit and a meet-and-greet to see if Candy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption contract to be signed and a requested adoption donation.
