Here are some very important things you need to know about Dixon

Approximate age/birthdate:  DOB  2-16-2014

Weight/size: At 11 weeks he weighed 15.4 pounds – he is the ‘runt’.  His mom is a mixed breed mutt who weighs about 35 lbs and the ‘most likely suspect’ for dad is black lab weighing around 80 lbs.  We think he’ll be somewhere in between … maybe 55-60 pounds

Housebroken:  Working on it

Crate trained:  Working on it

Personality: Lab happy!  He wiggles and wags and is just a happy boy all the time.

Energy level:  High … he’s a lab puppy!

Fenced yard required?:   YES … this boy will be so much happier if he has a place to run and play off-leash and work off some of his energy

Does he/He jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  Working on it

Obedience training:  NO

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  Loves to bark at the cats, but hasn’t tried to harm them

Good with children: Hasn’t been around kids, but we think he will be fine with them as long as they treat him with kindness.

Dixon and his siblings, Mason and Belle, are cute as can be.  They are typical lab mix puppies … happy all the time and ready to play at a moment’s notice.  Their mom is a medium size lab mix girl and dad (or the suspect) is a larger black lab.  The puppies definitely have the happy-go-lucky personality!  Dixon is the smallest of the litter and has some of his mom’s beautiful brindle markings.  He is not extremely demanding … he just wants a family who will love him forever and give him a great life!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Dixon picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
