Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: NO CATS.  She is fearful of them and defensive.  Someone will get hurt!
 
Good with children: Hasn’t been around children in foster care, but she has no concept of difference between big people and small people.  She is full-steam ahead and might not be best with children under 10.

Roxy is a very sweet little girl who wants a family of her own to love her forever.  She’s still a bit on the thin side and still has some hair loss from poor nutrition, but she’s bouncing back like a champ!  Roxy will be happier in a home where she is treated like a member of the family … she hates being left out of anything!  She is a super sweet little snuggler and a 4-legged alarm system (in typical doxie style).  And she can do the ‘wiggle dance’ standing on her back feet.  She is also very 'pushy' and will do best where she is an only dog.  She steals toys (and wants to defend them) and wants to hog all the human attention.  She does not appear to bond with other dogs ... is only interested in human attention.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Roxy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
