Hi … my name is Marco and here are some things you need to know about me:

Approximate age/birthdate:  born in 2014

Weight/size: 7 lbs

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: unsure about meeting new people, can be grumpy at first, learns to trust quickly

Energy level:  medium with bursts of high especially if he has other dogs around

Fenced yard required?:   YES

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  NO

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first         

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES, but he is selective.  He makes friends with some dogs, especially other small dogs, but only if they are not dominant.  He is not a fan of larger dogs.

Social with cats:  YES (he will bark at them to try to get them to play)

Good with children: NO … is not fond of children at all

Marco is an adorable little chihuahua boy who can be very, very good … and very, very bad. He is sometimes fearful of new people, but he usually warms up fairly soon.  He is slowly learning that he can trust people.  He is not a pup that will be trustworthy around children … all the noise and activity make him very anxious.  He has learned to give kisses and accept snuggles and belly rubs from his foster family.  He seems to like other small dogs that are easy going and not too bossy. He likes to play with other small dogs, but he is a very typical exciteable chihuahua!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Marco picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
