Housebroken:  Mostly … newspaper trained but will go outside if reminded regularly

Crate trained:  YES … does not have accidents in crate if taken out regularly

Personality:  happy, energetic, friendly, snuggly

Energy level:  high

Fenced yard required?:   YES – he needs a place to run and play safely off-leash

Does he/he jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  LEARNING and getting better

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ … will sit for a treat

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first and will drool 

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster home but would probably try to chase them.

Good with children:  Ozzy’s energy may be overwhelming for very young children (and vice versa), but we think he would be fine with older, respectful children.

Who can resist this little furry clown/wild man?  Ozzy is a super cute, happy-go-lucky little man, and he is definitely on the high-energy side. He does love to be cuddled and snuggled, too.  His coat is amazing! He won’t require a lot of grooming, but will require daily brushing to keep the mats out of the coat. He has always been around a lot of other small dogs, but we think he will thrive in a home where he can be the only pup or where he has one or two other small-to-medium, well-mannered pups to socialize with.  They must, however, be able to tolerate his energy.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Ozzy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
