Personality: very people-oriented, gets along well with most other dogs, snuggly

Energy level:  medium … pretty calm most of the time

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  No

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first         

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Don’t know

Good with children:   Would probably be OK with older, calm children.  He would probably not do well with children who tried to chase him or hold him all the time.

Henry was in an area Animal Control facility and pretty scared with all the ruckus going on around him.  He has been great in foster care except that he has been nippy with a couple of other new fosters that came in … unaltered males.  He gets along fine with all the others he has met so far.

Henry will do best in a household where he will get lots of attention rather than being left alone a lot of the time.  He would love to be an ‘only child’ because he loves human attention, but we think he would do OK with most other dogs and probably cats.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Henry picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
