Weight/size:  expected adult size ~15-10 lbs (10 lbs at age 5 months)

Housebroken:  working on it

Crate trained:  YES and seldom has accidents in crate

Personality: snuggle bug extraordinaire, happy, loving

Energy level:  medium with bursts of puppy high energy

Fenced yard required?:   YES

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  learning

Obedience training:  NO

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: do not know

Good with children: Would probably be ok with children 8 and older who are kind and respectful

Dixie (along with her mom Annie and her brother Spot) came to us from their original owners who just could not care for them any longer.  We’re not sure of the breed mix.  We know Mom (Annie) is a chihuahua mix and have heard rumors that Dad might be a lab/doxie mix.  Dixie is just the cutest little snuggle bug ever.  Her tail wags all the time and she is just a super good puppy.  She is cute and happy and has such a loving personality.  Dixie is going to be a great addition to some lucky family.   Oh … and did I mention ‘smart’ … yes, she is!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Dixie picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
