Housebroken:  YES if he is taken out regularly … will use puppy pads inside

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  happy-go-lucky, goofy, playful, snuggly

Energy level:  medium with bursts of high

Fenced yard required?:   YES … he needs to have a place to run and play safely off-leash

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  NO but he is super smart and learns quickly

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first         

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES … his rough, puppy play-style can get him in trouble with some of the older, more calm dogs

Social with cats:  do not know

Good with children:  would probably be fine with older, respectful children … his youthful energy and puppy-nipping play style would be overwhelming for younger/smaller children

Axel is such a goofball!  He is a youngster (we bet he’s going to be a ‘perpetual puppy’) and he is bouncy and playful and just full of himself.  Even when he gets in your lap to cuddle, he cannot sit still.  And he’s a huge KISSER.  He just can’t seem to get close enough to you for him to be happy.  He is very loving and seems to be a pretty smart little fella.  He does sometimes ‘piddle’ a little when he gets really excited, but it’s getting better as he gets more used to his foster home.  He is sometimes a little shy meeting new people but it usually doesn’t take him long to make friends and be ready to play.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
