Macho and his buddy Misty (a cute little Yorkie) came to us when their owner had to go into a health care facility. They were two pretty sad little bits for a while, but they have adjusted well to being in foster care, so now they’re ready to find their new forever homes. It would be great if they could be adopted together, but it is not a requirement.
Macho is uncharacteristically quiet for a Chihuahua. (He lets Misty do the talking for both of them.) He is very hesitant in new situations and not always happy about being forced to meet new people. He is sweet as can be once he trusts you, but he is very wary of strangers and will give some folks a low warning growl. His whole world has been full of changes lately, so we really can’t blame him. He will do best in a quiet, low-activity level home with a kind and patient family. He loves to snuggle down in a cushy, comfy doggy bed as well as snuggling in your lap … so he needs a family of his own.
If you think Macho might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Macho picks you too. Please note that we do not transport animals out of the Central VA area.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
