Housebroken:  YES … as long as you do your part and take him out frequently

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  happy, playful, loving, sweet

Energy level:  medium with bursts of high

Fenced yard required?:   YES … definitely preferred because he loves to get outside to play ball and explore

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES … getting better each day

Obedience training:  No but he is a super smart boy who learns quickly

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … sometimes drools a little stressed at first  

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Unknown … hasn’t been around cats

Good with children:  Will be fine with older (10 and older), respectful children who will treat him with love and respect.

Is this boy cute or what?  Scooter is a super sweet little man and he loves to be loved and snuggled! His coat and his sweet personality are amazing! He won’t require a lot of grooming, but will require daily brushing to keep the mats out of the coat … and lots of snuggles! He has always been around other small dogs, but we think he will be fine in a home as an only pup or in a home where he has one or two other small-to-medium, well-mannered pups to socialize with.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Scooter picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
