Housebroken:  YES – as long as you do your part and take him out regularly

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: friendly, likes attention, happy

Energy level:  medium to low

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred so he would have a safe place to play off-leash

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  NO but he is a smart boy and he listens well

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES  … he lived with a Great Dane previously and he enjoys playing with other small dogs.

Social with cats:  Curious about cats but doesn’t seem aggressive toward them

Good with children:  We think he would be fine with older, calm, respectful children

Chewie is such a handsome little Chihuahua mix boy.  Not sure what he is mixed with but it sure is sweet.  Chewie has known lots of love in his life, but some unforeseen circumstances made it necessary for his family to rehome him.  He has seemed to take the changes in his life in stride and continues to be a happy, loving little man.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Chewie picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
