Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES  (although being crated is not her favorite thing to do)

Personality: sweet, happy, content

Energy level:  low

Fenced yard required?:  PREFERRED so she has a place to safely get outside off-leash

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES … needs to walk on harness only … not just a collar

Obedience training:  None, but she listens well

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  YES

Good with children: Has not been around children in foster care, but her sweet personality would make us think she would be fine with other, respectful children.

Amber is just precious, despite the fact that she seems to have suffered some pretty serious neglect in her life.  When she first arrived her coat was in very bad condition … a lot of it was simply GONE.  She had some sores and skin infections and yet she was happy and sweet!  She is probably a result of ‘bad breeding’ and her knees are a little ‘wonky’ but she doesn’t seem to be in pain. She does not jump on furniture, which may be because of her knees.  She is missing some teeth, probably due to poor nutrition and lack of care.  And with all this, she is just a little love bug.  She is so content … not demanding at all … but she loves attention.  We think she would love a life of just being someone’s BFF … Best Furry Friend.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Amber picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
