Hi … my name is Marley and here are some things you need to know about me:
They call me ‘The Wanderer’. A Good Samaritan took me to ‘doggy jail’ so I would be safe while waiting for my people to find me. I looked like a big ole dust mop! I couldn’t see out and nobody could see my eyes until they cut some hair away from my face. But hair and all, I was happy as could be because I had people to pay attention to me and snuggle me. Eleven days came and went and no one I knew came looking for me … so some people came and got me and took me to something called a ‘foster home.’ It just seems like a regular home to me with people and some other dogs, and I like it! I especially liked my spa day when I got to go get rid of all that matted, dirty hair, and I got a bath (including a wonderful massage) … and I smell so good and I can SEE! So now I am searching for my new forever family. I would like a fun-loving, active family who will take me along for all the family fun. I promise I’ll be good! Could you be new people??
There is more info about Marley below, and if you think he might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and Fill Out your adoption application online. (Learn more about the adoption process at the end of Marley’s bio.)
Approximate age/birthdate: 2016
Weight/size: 11 lbs
Housebroken: YES as long you do your part and take him out often
Crate trained: YES
Personality: sweet, loving, happy
Energy level: Medium-to-high
Fenced yard required?: Yes. He has a history of wandering. He was observed wandering around loose for a few weeks before the Good Samaritan took him in to the animal control facility. This is an energetic little boy and he really needs a safe place to play off-leash to work off some of his energy. Without a fenced yard he will be a flight risk if he sees something elsewhere that piques his interest.
Does he/she jump fences? NO
Leash walk: YES
Obedience training: NO but he is a smart little guy who will learn quickly
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES
Social with cats: Will definitely chase cats if they run
Good with children: Will probably be OK with older, respectful children. Not sure how he would handle a younger, more active child.
Adoption donation: $175
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Marley picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
