Hi … my name is Bear and here are some things you need to know about me:

If cuteness will find Bear a new home, he should have one in no time!  And he is just as sweet as he is cute.  This little guy has been loved all his life, but he now finds himself in search of a new forever home.  We are told he is a Pomeranian/shih tzu mix, but he doesn’t really look either … so we’re just calling him a cute little mutt.  He is very calm and quiet for a little guy.  He can make some noise if he wants to get your attention.  He loves sitting in your lap and is fine with other dogs although playing with other dogs is not a priority for him.  Could Bear be the perfect addition to your family?

Weight/size:  6 pounds

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  quiet, sweet, happy as long he is with a person

Energy level:  low … very laid back

Fenced yard required?:  Definitely preferred so he has a safe place to wander and explore off-leash. Due to his size he should never be outside unsupervised.  He is just the right size for a hawk to pick up.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  No

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first         

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster care

Good with children:  He will be better with older, respectful children.  Young, small, very active youngsters could easily hurt him without meaning to.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Bear picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
