Hi … my name is Strawberry (as in Shortcake … AKA Shorty) and here are some things you need to know about me:

Look at this smiling face?  Can you believe THIS face ended up in doggy jail?  They say I was a ‘stray’ (whatever that is) and a nice lady ‘found’ me (but couldn’t keep me) so she took me to the place with lots of dogs and kitties and noise.  But they were really nice to me and soon some people I didn’t know came to get me.  I went to a foster home with some other doggies and I found some nice new friends to play with.  I have a soft bed and I get plenty of food and belly rubs and snuggles, but what I really want is a family of my very own.  I want to have people I can love forever and a home where I can be the Snuggle Buddy Princess!  Could you love me forever??

Weight/size:  ~8.5 lbs

Housebroken:  YES (but you have to do your part and take me out often)

Crate trained:  YES (will potty in crate if left too long)

Personality:  sweet, snuggly, happy

Energy level:  low/medium … very laid back

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred so she can safely explore off-leash

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  No … she thinks being cute is enough

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster care

Good with children: Has not been around children but we think she would be fine with children over 10 who are calm and respectful with her.  She is not a fan of rough play and loud noises

Adoption donation:  $225

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Strawberry picks you too.
