HAPPY LIFE LITTLE CHEWY!  ENJOY YOUR NEW FAMILY.

Hi … my name is Chewy and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to
www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

Approximate age/birthdate:  late 2017

Weight/size:  8 lbs

Housebroken:  Working on it.  He is good as long as you do your part and take him out often.  Once he learns ‘the schedule’ he does well.  (He is only recently neutered so still feels the need to ‘mark’ if other dogs are around.)

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  oh-so-terrier … alert, curious, fearless, assertive, sweet, loving, happy, energetic

Energy level:  medium with frequent bursts of terrier high energy ... he is busy

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred because he has a history of wandering and he does not always come when called.  He must never be allowed off-leash in an un-secured area.  He is too fast for most of us!

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Working on it … he is energetic and gets excited when he sees things he wants to explore

Obedience training:  No … but he is a terrier … and very smart, so he will learn quickly

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES … his play style is still ‘puppy rough’  and a bit assertive, so he can be annoying to older, more settled pups.  He does love being around other dogs and tries to be friends with all of them.  His social skills are still a bit unpolished.

Social with cats:  His energy and outgoing personality would probably be overwhelming for most cats.

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  He is so energetic (but terriers are not fans of roughhousing) that he would probably be too much for younger, smaller children.

Adoption donation:  $225

What can we say???  Cute does not even begin to describe this little bundle of terrier fur.  We are not sure of the mix … but definitely terrier.  There could be Brussels Griffon, Norfolk Terrier, Border Terrier … or who knows what else! But don’t let all that cute and the small size fool you! He is adorable and he is sweet and he is not for the faint of heart!  He is a terrier boy in motion and his goal is to get everyone and everything he sees engaged in rowdiness.  This little one needs an active routine … walks, playtime and then snuggle time.

Do you have an active lifestyle and time to spend with an adorable, intelligent, loving furkid?  This boy just might be a love match for you!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Chewy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
