Hi … my name is Emma Jean and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

Can you say ‘diva’?  That would be Miss Emma Jean … and she knows it.  Apparently in her past life, she was permitted to be in charge, and it’s easy to see why!  7 pounds of cuteness and attitude.  Understand that Emma Jean has been loved and spoiled all her life until her family had an emergency situation which turned all their lives upside down.  Some new children were suddenly added to the family and one very young child was so allergic that he required medical attention.  To the family’s dismay and sadness, upon medical advice, Emma Jean would need to find a new home.  But don’t be too sad for Emma Jean.  She came in to foster care and has been continuing her majestic reign as The Princess.  Do you need a new diva in your life?  If you are willing to hold her for several hours each day and spoil her rotten, she could be just the girl for you!

Approximate age/birthdate:  born early 2016

Weight/size:  7 lbs

Housebroken:  YES (as long as you do your part and take her out often … and she seems to be potty pad trained)

Crate trained:  YES
 
Personality:  sweet (unless you try to make her do something she doesn’t want to), loving, needs lots of attention, has no clue she is a (shhhh) d o g

Energy level:  low to medium

Fenced yard required?:   YES ... in foster care it has been observed that the Diva also has a stubborn streak and if she really wants to get outside, she will do whatever is necessary to escape through an open door or fence gate ... and will not always come back when called.  This makes a fenced yard a very important part of her new life.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  YES (prefers to be carried)

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first         

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES, she behaves well with other dogs, but she prefers the company of people

Social with cats:  We think she might be fearful of assertive cats because most would be bigger than her.

Good with children:  No small children. Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  If children or adults were rough with her or teased her, she would likely nip.

Adoption donation:  $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Emma Jean picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
