Merlot is a long, low wire-haired terrier mix boy who just loves life. He is curious and fun-loving and always looks happy. He’s a mischievous clown, and just a joy to be around. He loves to be around his people but he isn’t clingy or an in-your-face kinda guy. You know he’s happy to see you, but he has such nice manners, he’ll wait patiently for your attention. Just being close to you is good enough for him. He responds best to kindness and patience and he really hates to be fussed at!
Merlot is an inside guy but he enjoys being able to get out and snoop around the yard and play with his foster siblings. He will be happiest in a home where he has a fenced yard and possibly a doggy friend. He gets along with everybody so he’s super easy. He’s very easy to live with!
If you think Merlot might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete the dog adoption application online.
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit and meet-and-greet to see if Merlot picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com or call 434 841 0411 or 540 297 1590 if you have additional questions.
