Hi … my name is Scrappy and here are some things you need to know about me! After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.
What a cutie! We are really baffled about ‘what’ he might be, but we’re thinking Chihuahua and terrier mix … maybe several other breeds … a true All-American mutt! This little fella is just adorable and happy as he can be. We don’t have history on him other than we know he ended up in ‘doggy jail’ and he was happy to get to an AAMR foster home! He is a really good puppy – so happy and playful and just loving life! He is full of energy, a little stubborn, and his play style is still a little rough, but he ‘listens’ pretty well when some of the older dogs correct him. He forgets and gets rough again and they correct again … and so it goes.
Scrappy would love to have an active family of his very own who will take him places (including to an obedience class), keep him socialized, and teach him how to be a wonderful family member. Are you ready to start a 12-15 year journey, raising a puppy and loving him through his entire life?
Are you ready to add some spice to your life??
Approximate age/birthdate: born ~ April 2019
Weight/size: 12 lbs (adult weight guesstimated 15-18lbs)
Housebroken: YES … as long as you do your part and take the puppy out often
Crate trained: YES … does well as long as he is not left crated for long periods of time. He is a puppy and needs plenty of play time and plenty of potty breaks.
Personality: sweet, goofy, happy, loving, playful, and a bit stubborn, sassy and scrappy
Energy level: typical puppy … full speed to sound asleep in no time. Needs a lot of exercise and manners training
Fenced yard required?: Always preferred. This little guy should never be off-leash when not inside a fenced area. With his terrier gene pool, he is going to be an active boy who needs lots of exercise each day. A tired puppy is a good puppy.
Does he/she jump fences? NO
Leash walk with manners: Learning … and doing better each time
Obedience training: No … but he would probably be a star pupil in an obedience class because he is very alert and smart
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES He thinks all dogs should have the same play energy that he does, so he might be a bit much for older or more sedentary pups.
Social with cats: Will definitely chase cats, but not sure he would try to intentionally hurt them. His rough play might not make them happy.
Good with children: Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. His energy level will be too much for younger children/toddlers and he has not learned all his ‘manners’ yet.
Adoption donation: $175
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Scrappy picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
