Handsome Baxter sure won the Doggy Family Lotto! He has a wonderful new Mom and Dad and a new Pom sibling! Are they cute or what???
Hi … my name is Baxter! Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.
If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online. Please email additional questions to weluvpups@hotmail.com.
Oh Baxter … what a handsome ball of white fluff! A typical Pom – loves people (once you give him a few minutes to decide you’re OK), is smart and curious, and is a brave little watchdog! The white coat is beautiful and will require regular brushing and grooming. And be warned … he is not a ‘froofy’ dog and doesn’t mind getting his nice white coat dirty! He is a super sweet boy and he really wants to find his new ‘person’ soon! Could it be you?
Approximate age/birthdate: December 2017
Weight/size: 11 lbs
Housebroken: YES … as long as you do your part and take him out often and get him on a schedule
Crate trained: YES
Personality: sweet, spunky, a little reserved when meeting new people (warms up quickly)
Energy level: medium
Fenced yard required?: Definitely preferred because he has always had one. He should never be outside a fenced area off-leash (and his leash walking skills are a work in progress)
Does he/she jump fences? NO
Leash walk with manners: Working on it. He had apparently never been on leash before coming to foster care.
Obedience training: NO but would benefit from the structure and socialization of a good class.
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK – a little nervous at first
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES
Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster home. He would probably be curious about them.
Good with children: Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. Younger, busier children may be a bit intimidating to him.
Adoption donation: $250
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Baxter picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
