Christmas 2020 is very special for Daphne because she is living with her new family, including a new doggy brother and a new kitty brother! Happy Life sweet Daphne!
Hi … my name is Daphne! Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.
If you think I might be the perfect pup for you (and you might be the perfect person for me), go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.
Daphne is a strikingly beautiful and interesting little girl. She is definitely a ‘mutt’ with traces and characteristics of several different breeds. Her deep blue/slate color is not dominant in a lot of breeds, making her gene pool even more of a mystery. She has the beautiful, intense eyes of a herding dog and the size and ears of a larger rat terrier. What we DO know is that she is super sweet, intelligent, busy, and she can break out of an outdoor kennel in a matter of minutes. So far she hasn’t tried to scale the fence, but we’re sure she could if she wanted to. She is definitely and inside girl!
She is still a puppy (although she is a ‘mature’ puppy), full of curiosity and love. She will bring so much joy and love to the right family … an active family that will include her in all the fun.
Approximate age/birthdate: born ~ Sep 2019
Weight/size: 23 lbs
Housebroken: YES as long as you do your part and take her out often
Crate trained: YES, but she will protest about being crated before she settles down
Personality: happy, confident, loves people, smart and stubborn
Energy level: medium and she will stay busy when allowed room to roam
Fenced yard required?: YES – She needs a safe place to explore and play. No electric/underground fence … only a physical fence. She is very curious and wouldn’t be deterred by the electronic correction. And she will find any tiny breach in a fence and squeeze herself through it. She should never be left outside without direct supervision.
Does he/she jump fences? NO but she is very athletic and COULD if she decided she wanted to
Leash walk with manners: YES, but she really does like to explore so hold on to that leash!
Obedience training: No, but she’s smart and listens well (unless you are trying to get her to do something she doesn’t want to). Good news is that she is treat-motivated
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES
Social with cats: Has not been cat tested. We are sure she would be happy to chase them if they ran, but do not know if she would actually try to harm or not.
Good with children: Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.
Adoption donation: $175
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Daphne picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email
weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
