When Carol and Winn Dixie met Breezy at the Horse & Hound Wine Festival, it was like-at-first sight. But then Carol couldn't get Breezy off her mind. Funny, she didn't THINK she wanted a third dog right now. But beautiful Breezy has turned out to be Winn Dixie's new BFF!
Breezy is a very unique girl. We call her our blonde bombshell! We’re not exactly sure what the mix is, but she has the mischievous terrier qualities of the wheaten terrier and the intelligence and some of the physical characteristics of the husky. The one brown eye, one blue eye look is very striking and gets your attention immediately. We approximate her date of birth sometime late in 2008. She currently weighs around 40-45 pounds.
Breezy is medium- to high-energy and she loves to get outside to run and play with both people and her foster pup siblings. Getting enough exercise is a MUST for her.
She is definitely a threat to cats and other small furry creatures and has a very high prey drive. Breezy has a very high 'play' drive and needs to be challenged with training. She is 'smarter than the average bear' and 'sit,' 'down,' and 'stay' are not enough challenge for her. She needs to work.
A fenced yard is a requirement.
Breezy has also been assessed as a very strong candidate (a natural) for a Search and Rescue dog. She is definitely a working dog and may be a challenge as simply a family pet. She will do best with an active family who will keep her working on various projects to keep her occupied … and to stop her from creating things to do on her own.
Breezy is crate-trained and walks on lead. She is a very smart girl and would do well in obedience classes and then agility classes. With the proper training and leadership, this girl is going to be amazing.
Breezy is spayed, up-to-date on all routine vaccinations, and is microchipped.
Congratulations to Breezy and her new forever family!
