Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: very sweet, friendly, happy-go-lucky, easy-going, not a big barker, will let you hold him but not a big snuggler, very independent and adventurous, listens well

Energy level: low to medium

Fenced yard required?:   PREFERRED because he does love to get outside and explore

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  No – but will come when called

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK      

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES - is fine with the bigger dogs as well as smaller ones              

Social with cats:  YES but will bark at them if another dog starts barking at them first.

Good with children: YES – will do better with older, respectful children.  He will not tolerate ear and tail pulling or anyone trying to dress him up like a doll.

Adoption fee:  $300

Shadow came to us with both front legs broken.  He has healed completed and never knew he had a problem.  The splints on his legs for almost 8 weeks barely slowed him down!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Shadow picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
