About Cotton

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White

Here are some very important things you need to know about little Cotton

Approximate age/birthdate:  we’re estimating that she was born in 2008

Weight/size:  10 lbs

Housebroken:  90% - She does really well most of the time but if you don’t pay attention to her ‘signals’ and body
language, she may still have an accident occasionally

Crate trained:  YES – she prefers not being crated but will go in willingly and without protest when necessary

Personality:  Cotton is a very sweet, gentle little miniature poodle.  A little on the reserved side, she still has a fun-loving playful side.
She is very eager to please and really responds to love and kindness.

Energy level:  low to medium energy level and she prefers the world around her being calm and somewhat quiet.

Fenced yard required?: preferred so she can have a place to play safely off-leash.  She is very small and somewhat
fragile so the fence would offer protection from other animals/people for her

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES – it is new for her but she is learning quickly

Obedience training:  does not seem to have had any training

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES – she is very submissive and is easily intimidated by other dogs

Social with cats:  She has ignored the cats

Good with children:  She will be fine with older, respectful children.  She does not enjoy being handled roughly or being
carried around excessively.  She is not a small dog that will enjoy playing ‘dress up’ with the kids.

Adoption fee:  $175

This beautiful little girl had been used as a breeding dog so she has not had an easy life.  She is a very gentle-spirited girl who will be happiest in a calmer household with a family with time to show her plenty of love and kindness.  She would love to be included in family trips and activities.  When she feels calm and safe, you can almost see her smile!

If you think Cotton might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Cotton picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com or call 434 841 0411 or 540 297 1590 if you have additional questions.
