Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: sweet, loving, somewhat submissive, happy

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:   YES – probably will need an underground/electronic fence

Does he/she jump fences?  YES – she can get over 4’ and 6’ fences easily and will do so if she is left outside alone.  She does well for reasonable/short periods of time on long zip line.

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ and is treat motivated so she trains easily.  She is also very eager to please her humans.

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK      

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  NO … she will go after them with bad intent

Good with children:  She hasn’t been around children while in foster care but seems like she would be fine with calm, respectful older children.  She gets intimidated by too much activity around her.

Adoption fee:  $175

Sweet Speckles was dropped off in a high-kill shelter with a litter of puppies.  The pups have all gone on to new families and now it’s time for Speckles to find a loving family and enjoy the good life.  She is just the sweetest, most loving girl and she always seems to be happy now that she can live inside as a member of the family.  She will go outside for short periods of time but she is always first in line to come back inside!

Speckles would love to have a new family who would include her in family activities.  She doesn’t want to be left home alone all the time.  She really loves being with people and you can just see her happiness.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Speckles picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
