Ben is just the cutest little guy.  He was brought in to a high-kill shelter by Animal Control Officers and he was terrified.  He hovered in the back of his cage and the pound staff called him ‘bi-polar’ and were ready to put him on the list to be killed because he was considered ‘unadoptable.’  We have an amazing volunteer who went into the pound and spent several hours getting to know him – and letting him get comfortable with her.  Once he decided he trusted her, he came out of the cage and has been a model foster pup ever since.  He let her give him a bath and then she drove him almost 2 hours to meet us.

He is such a happy boy.  He is very social with people and with his foster pup friends.  What he seems to enjoy most is getting lots of attention and love.  He isn’t yappy or nippy and he has nice house manners.  He really wants to be an important member of a family that will take him wherever they go and will include him in all the family activities.  That will be easy because he is such a joy to be around!

If you think Ben might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Ben picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com or call 434 841 0411 or 540 297 1590 if you have additional questions.
