Obedience training:  None but she is smart and treat oriented

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  Will bark at them and chase them

Good with children:  May be OK with older children who understand that they should not try to get in her face.

Josie came to us from a very bad situation and she had no reason to trust people at all.  She had babies with her and she hadn’t been well cared for.  She was badly mistreated and is still wary of new people, but once she trusts you, she is very gentle and sweet.  She is very low-key and very observant of everything going on around her.  She had never lived inside before coming into rescue and now she doesn’t want to go outside!  I think she’s afraid she might get left out again … but that never happens.

Josie is still a ‘work-in-progress’ and she has come so far.  You can now actually see that she is happy!  She is such a sweet girl and she deserves a wonderful loving family who will make her know she is safe and loved for the rest of her life.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Josie picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
