Fenced yard required?:   YES – all pups need a safe place to play!

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  Yes

Obedience training:  Knows 'sit' and is learning ‘no,’ ‘wait,’ and ‘easy’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: YES

Good with children: He hasn’t been around children but best guess is that he would be fine with older children who know how to treat animals with respect and care.  He would be overwhelmed and intimidated by a lot of loud, rambuctious activity.

JR's mom is a sweet little 10-lb Chihuahua and papa was a rolling stone.  He has some JRT features, but definitely not the hyper JRT personality.  He has beagle-like eyes ... so his true mix is anyone's guess!  JR is a very sweet, loving little boy. He is a bit on the shy side when meeting new people or going into new surroundings, but once he's comfortable, he is energetic and playful.  His mom has the best temperament, and JR loves to cuddle and give lots of really sweet kisses - just like his mom.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet and home visit to see if JR picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, we can finalize the adoption with the signed adoption contract.
