Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  a little reserved, independent, loving, playful

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:   YES – in her previous life she was left to roam free so until she is completely bonded with her new family, might be a flight risk

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  No real training but she is a very smart little girl

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK – a little anxious at first but settles quickly

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES – but she does not tolerate rude behavior from other pups either and will warn them off with a growl when necessary.  She is not aggressive at all but will defend her personal space.

Social with cats:  Seems fine with the cats

Good with children:  Will not be tolerant of rowdy children mistreating her or being ‘in her face’ – she is a bit reserved. Will definitely be better with older, respectful children and adults.

Adoption donation:  $175

Matilda is such a great little girl.  She has had a rough life and not gotten all the love and nurturing she so deserves so she is a little reserved and cautious when going into new situations with new people!  Once she trusts you she is just a happy little girl. She will do best in a settled household.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet and home visit to see if Matilda picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, we can finalize the adoption with the signed adoption contract.
