ON A VISIT TO PETCO, SHADOW MET THE FAMILY OF HIS DREAMS AND ON FEB 15 HE STARTED HIS HAPPILY EVER AFTER WITH THEM!  HE EVEN HAS A K9 SISTER NAMED BELLA!

Here are some very important things you need to know about Shadow:

Breed mix:  a mutt – looks like there might be Chihuahua, maybe beagle, maybe fox terrier … and who knows what else?

Color:  reddish brown and white

Approximate age/birthdate:  born ~ April 2013

Weight/size: ~25 lbs     

Housebroken:  about 90%                     

Crate trained:   YES                   

Personality: very wiggly and snuggly, happy, a little shy with new people and situations                             

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:  Definitely preferred

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  Walks well on leash

Obedience training/knows any commands?:  No training

Riding in vehicles:  Very nervous but has not had a lot of experience riding – would probably get more comfortable if he rode more    

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  He wants to play with other dogs but will guard his toys.

Social with cats: Yes … but he will try to steal their food.

Good with children:  Has not been around children but we think he would do OK with older, gentle children

This sweet boy is quite a pup.  He is sweet and loving and a little bit shy, but he loves attention.  He is looking for a family with lots of love for him and some quality time to spend with him.  He just wants to be a member of the family!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Shadow picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
