Here are some very important things you need to know about Muttons (aka Mutton Chops)

Approximate age/birthdate:  ~2011

Weight/size: ~35 lbs

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: typical shar-pei … a bit aloof with convenient hearing, sweet, happy, a little stubborn at times

Energy level:  medium to low

Fenced yard required?:   YES … for his own safety (he was picked up as a stray so we know he wanders)

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  NO

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES as long as they stay out of his face.  He will try to walk away but if they’re too pushy he will let them know he means business

Social with cats:  Barks at cats and would probably chase if they would run

Good with children: Has not been around children in foster care but has been fine with them at meet-and-greets

Adoption donation:  $175

Muttons is a funny little guy who seems to have had a rough life.  When he was picked up by Animal Control he was severely underweight, had several bite marks on his body, was missing lots of hair and just looked pitiful.  Consistent good nutrition has helped a lot … weight is going up and hair is coming back in.  He was heartworm positive, so first order of business was to get that treated and he did great.

He is a great little guy and will be a wonderful addition to just the right family!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Muttons picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
