Weight/size: at 16 weeks weighed 25 lbs

Housebroken:  not yet ... but working on it 
 
Crate trained:  YES  … has had only a few overnight potty accidents in crate

Personality: puppy happy, sweet, loving, playful

Energy level:  high … she’s a puppy, but she settles easily when she gets enough exercise

Fenced yard required?:   YES … definitely … she needs a safe place to play off-leash

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES … getting better at it every day

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit,’ working on ‘paw’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  OK with cats except her size and puppy clumsiness make her feel threatening to them

Good with children: Has been OK with the few she has met

Dutchess is a super sweet puppy who looks like she’s probably a shepherd mix of some sort.  She is not getting tall, but she is filling out.  She has a super soft body and wiggles from nose to tail.  She is very loving with everyone she meets and with proper training, she will be an amazing companion.  She is very smart and learns quickly.  We think she is going to be a big girl … maybe in the 50-60 lb range … but that guess is based solely on the size of her beautiful paws right now.

This sweet girl needs to be part of an active family who will take her everywhere with them and truly make her a family member.  She loves people, gets along with other dogs well, and she just loves having a companion to love on.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Dutchess picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
