On Sat Dec 20, 2008, Darma was adopted by Dave and Meril Gerstenmaier!
Darma is a beautiful girl - a Pudelpointer (UKC recognized breed) - a German wirehaired pointer and a poodle. These dogs are bred to be working hunting dogs as well as wonderful companion dogs. We don't hunt, so don't know if she will or not! But we do know that her slightly whiskery muzzle is adorable! She is about 1-1/2 years old, 50 pounds, and a sweetheart.
Darma will be great in a home with an active family that will play with her and work her, even if her only work is chasing sticks or balls or running with someone. She is very affectionate, but she also likes to be given something to do. With some training, we think she could be a great agility dog.
Darma gets along well with other dogs of all sizes and she has nice manners with the cats. She will do well in a home with other pets, but will also do fine as an only pet.
Darma walks nicely on a leash, rides well in a car, is housebroken and crate trained and will be a wonderful addition to the right family. She is also good with children. She has been spayed and is up-to-date on all her shots.
