Hi … my name is Sophie and here are some things you need to know about me:

Housebroken:  YES … if you do your part and take her out!

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: very low-key, sweet, a little reserved

Energy level:  low to medium

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred … she enjoys exploring in the yard

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  She watches the cats and if they would run, she would probably chase just for fun

Good with children:  Has not been around children in foster care but we think she would be fine with older, respectful children.  She is not a fan of loud noises and a lot of activity.

Adoption donation:  $175

Sophie was an owner surrender at an area Animal Control facility.  No clear reasons were given and we’re surprised because she is just a doll baby.  She has a very low-key, reserved personality, but she is also very loving.  She is a yorkie … a mix we believe … and she couldn’t be any sweeter.

Sophie will be happiest in a low-key, calm household.  She plays well with other small dogs and tries to stay out of the way of the bigger ones.  She is low-maintenance … content to lie on the bed, sofa or chair in the same room with you.  If you want to play, she’s ready.  If you want to snuggle, she’s ready.  She has nice manners and is not very vocal.  Her foster family thinks she is quite a gem!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Sophie picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
