Miss Elsa got her brand new forever family just in time for Christmas! Happy life little girl!
Hi … my name is Elsa and here are some things you need to know about me:
Approximate age/birthdate: March 11, 2014
Weight/size: 9 pounds
Housebroken: YES
Crate trained: YES
Personality: timid, reserved, sweet, wants to be loved
Energy level: low with some glimmers of medium
Fenced yard required?: YES … if she gets spooked she will run away, so a physical fence is for her security.
Does he/she jump fences? NO
Leash walk: YES
Obedience training: Knows ‘sit’
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: NO but we will provide microchip for her
Social with other dogs: Not at first … she will try to hide from them. She does get friendly with some of them after a little time.
Social with cats: Has not been with cats in her foster home, but she might even be afraid of them.
Good with children: She would be terrified of a lot of activity and noise, especially with younger children. She would probably be better with older, respectful children who would be more calm with her.
Adoption donation: $175
Is this the cutest little girl or what? Elsa is a super sweet little girl, and she is very timid. It takes her a little while to warm up, but once she trusts you, she is very loving. She is treat and food motivated, so using praise, positive-reinforcement and treats will make it easy to do training with her to increase her self-confidence. Right now she just doesn’t know she can be brave.
She gravitates to calm, low-key people who are more soft-spoken. Lots of noise and activity make her very anxious and nervous, and all she wants to do is hide. We think she will do best in a quiet, low-activity household. She gets along fine with other small, lower-energy dogs after she is sure they are no threat to her, so having another small or medium sized dog in the home who is quiet, confident and balanced might be really good for her. She is very scared of larger dogs. She would probably be fine with a cat that didn’t try to scare her!
If you think Elsa might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Elsa picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
