Personality: reserved at first, wary of new people and places.

Energy level:  Medium (but bursts of high when he is in play mode)

Fenced yard required?:   YES

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  None

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … gets a little stressed at first         

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Hasn’t been around cats in foster home

Good with children:  Would probably be OK with older children.  Young children and a lot of activity would make him nervous until he got used to them and he decided they were ‘his people.’

Casper is such a handsome little man.  He was brought into a local Animal Control facility as a stray.  The owners were identified and when contacted they said they didn’t want him back.  Needless to say he was more than a little stressed out!  He has gone through some changes in his life, but all-in-all he’s doing great.  He is a little wary of new people, places and things, but once he trusts you, he is very loving and wants to get in your lap and be cuddled.  He will now even give kisses to few select people! He doesn’t like to be picked up, but he will willingly jump into your lap. He does great with most other dogs unless they insist on being in his face or trying to get attention from ‘his’ people. He has made great strides since coming into foster care. If you have time in your life to help an adorable little boy learn to trust people again and to feel loved and valued, Casper might be the perfect little guy for you!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Casper picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
